Glomac Damansara

Taman Tun Dr Ismail, always called TTDI, is one of Kuala Lumpur's most settled and sought-after neighbourhoods: a mature township of terraces, semi-detached houses and bungalows laid out from the 1970s, with a scattering of condominiums around its edges. It is named after Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, the country's second deputy prime minister, and it feels like a suburb that has had fifty years to grow into itself, with tree-lined streets, long-standing residents and a strong community life.

Its great asset is green space. TTDI sits against Bukit Kiara, one of the largest green lungs in the city, with forest trails used for walking, running, hiking and mountain biking, and Taman Rimba Kiara at its edge. After a long residents' campaign, a high-rise project on that parkland was cut and the park gazetted in June 2025, which settles the fear of it being built over, and talks on widening the forest reserve's buffer could limit new building further.

Everyday life centres on the shop lots along Lorong Rahim Kajai and Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi: local food stalls, cafes, restaurants, banks and services, plus a well-used wet market. Malls such as Glo Damansara and, a short drive away, 1 Utama and The Curve cover the rest. Well-regarded national schools make it a family catchment, and owner-occupiers dominate.

TTDI is better connected than most landed areas. The MRT Kajang Line's TTDI station is already running and buses link into it, though a house on the far side of the township is a long walk from the platform. The SPRINT and the Penchala Link put the city centre, Damansara and Petaling Jaya within easy reach, and a second station, Bukit Kiara on the MRT3 Circle Line, is planned nearby for around 2032. Houses near the main roads pick up traffic noise; the inner streets are quiet.
