Dorsett Residences Sri Hartamas

Sri Hartamas is a mature, lively neighbourhood on the north-western side of Kuala Lumpur, between Mont Kiara and Damansara Heights. It mixes condominiums and older low-rise apartments with landed streets, and it shares Mont Kiara's international character: a diverse expat community, many of them tenants, lives here alongside Malaysians who like being in the middle of things.

Its heart is commercial. Desa Sri Hartamas's shop lots are known for restaurants, bars and late-night dining, Plaza Damas and Hartamas Shopping Centre add offices, shops and services, and Publika at Solaris Dutamas is close by. Banks, groceries and everyday errands are mostly within walking distance, and the offices make it a working district by day as well as a place to eat out at night.

That energy has a cost. Sri Hartamas is not the address for quiet: the commercial streets are busy into the evening and traffic is congested at peak hours. There is no rail station today, so most residents drive, using Jalan Duta, the DUKE and the SPRINT to reach the city centre.

Change is coming quickly. Sri Hartamas has its own station on the MRT3 Circle Line, confirmed in July 2025, with construction from 2027 and trains due around 2032, and new projects are already clustering around it. That brings better transport and a rising supply of new homes, and it puts pressure on the older low-rise blocks to be redeveloped. The area has also grown popular with short-stay visitors and business travellers, which gives some buildings a more transient feel.
