Overall it's a middling choice, lifted by happy residents. The main thing to know: it sits close to Jalan Tun Razak, an arterial road, so traffic noise is likely.

What Bukit Bintang is like

Bukit Bintang is the shopping and entertainment heart of central Kuala Lumpur, and the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) to its east now continues the commercial spine of the city. Jalan Alor, a 500-metre stretch of seafood and street food, draws nearly 10,000 visitors a day, many of them tourists, so the neighbourhood is busy. Homes here are condominiums and serviced apartments, some of them used as short-stay rental units.

TRX opened its mall, The Exchange TRX, to the public in November 2023, with over 400 stores across 1.3 million sq ft. About half of the Tun Razak Exchange plots were completed and operating by May 2026, and Bukit Bintang appears the main relative beneficiary of the spillover leasing demand, as the city's commercial spine now runs from KLCC through Bukit Bintang to TRX. Pavilion KL has seen its role shift only gradually. Homes in the TRX precinct itself averaged RM1,843 psf, with nearly RM1,500 psf between the top and bottom tiers.

Public transport is strong. The MRT Kajang Line and the KL Monorail both serve Bukit Bintang, a 132-metre covered walkway links Jalan Imbi to Sungei Wang Plaza and the monorail station, and TRX Residensi I is connected directly to the Exchange mall and the TRX MRT station on the Putrajaya Line. A 2025 proposal to pedestrianise Jalan Bukit Bintang is backed by a public transport group, which says it would ease congestion.

The district keeps changing: nearby older streets such as Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah now hold many restaurants and hotels.
