Damansara Perdana is a township in Petaling Jaya, developed beginning in 1996 and now almost three decades old. Working adults, families and investors have made it home, and it has generally positioned itself as an affordable choice among the neighbouring townships.

Its eateries offer a range of cuisines at more affordable prices than other commercial areas, which draws office workers from nearby, although the township has few well-known retail developments of its own.

There is no MRT station in Damansara Perdana, and the area would be more appealing with one; the DASH elevated expressway was expected to disperse traffic and improve connectivity. Parking is a challenge for existing shoplots and older condos, illegal parking forms a bottleneck on Jalan PJU 8/8 where residents fear a fire engine could not pass, and peak hours are likely to get more congested as compact units are added.

A lot of new supply is coming. Central Park Damansara is rising with residences, offices, a retail hub and a 10-acre green park, and the RM5 billion Empire City Damansara, launched in 2011, was to be completed in a joint venture, its mall about 80% complete in 2019. Future micro-size serviced residence projects might lead to oversupply. In 2021 the average rent for non-landed homes was RM2.50 psf a month, with yields of 5% to 5.5%.
