What Desa ParkCity is like
Desa ParkCity is a 473-acre, mostly freehold township on the Kepong side of Kuala Lumpur, launched in 2002 on a former quarry as the first gated-and-guarded strata landed homes community in Kepong, and built out by one developer ever since. About 20 residential projects, from landed homes to high-rise condominiums, sit behind two guarded entrances, with a second checkpoint at each project.

A 13.9-acre lake park is the centre of the place. It is dog-friendly, while the East and West Parks are landscaped and dog-free. Walkways are wide, parks and green corridors are linked, and children walk or cycle to The International School @ ParkCity inside the township. The Waterfront and Plaza Arkadia are the two retail hubs, with restaurants and grocers, and the township also holds a private hospital, a clubhouse, a sports centre and places of worship.
Most residents are local owner-occupiers, and because few of them let out, rental units are scarce; expatriate families have been drawn in too. People tend to stay as their lives change, from young professionals to parents to grandparents. Because one developer controls supply, new homes arrive in measured phases, and the newest, ParkCity Residences, is billed as the most premium project in the township yet.
Rail is outside the township: MRT stations lie within about 5 km, so most residents drive, and the MRR2, DUKE, LDP and Sprint highways connect to the rest of the Klang Valley, with Mont Kiara to the east and Bandar Sri Damansara to the west. A 46-storey office tower planned beside the international school drew a challenge from parents over crane safety and congestion.
